Ever had one of those nights out when you REALLY wish you had brought your camera? Well, last Saturday night was one of those nights. It was our good friend Kristin Romens' birthday and she took us to this country line dancing/karaoke bar called Nick’s in Alexandria. Needless to say we were out of our element. If you morphed the movie sets of Roadhouse and Footloose, you would get Nick’s. We started in the line dancing room (where my attempts to line dance were woeful), and later moved into the karaoke room. The regulars did not like us taking over the karaoke room. In fact, I’m sure a couple of the guys wanted to kick our ass, especially when John, Par, and I started double-dutching on the dance floor. I could go on and on but without pictures to visually convey the scene, it wouldn’t do much good. So, if you’re ever in the greater DC area and have a hankering to do some two stepping, head on out to Nick’s.

This weekend Jenny and I are heading to the mountains and I’m psyched. I need to get away from the concrete, pavement, and of course, the sniper on the loose. A little dose of Mother Nature does a body good. I will be back in time though to watch Notre Dame defeat Air Force.

Just a few comments on my updates on the left. Sbarro's. What can I say. Whether you need a slice on the run, or a classy joint for your wedding reception, Sbarro's is the place to go. Unlike Applebee's which is now using Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" on its commercials! What the hell is with that?! I lost a little respect for the man in black on that one. Nonetheless, it's a great song and #4 Greatest Song of All-time (right now).

Okay, check this out. My roommate John is all geeked out about Halloween. Key word: geek. He actually went and made himself a Tron costume. What a tool. And he mocked me for making a duct tape wallet! Needless to say I asked him to pack his things after he sent me these photos:






Okay, I shouldn't lie. Those aren't pictures of John. It's really this guy Par Raoofi. We feel bad for him because all he talks about is Tron and how cool he is. It's sad really.
